Chickens for Cerebral Palsy Awareness Unisex Heavy Cotton Tee

DB has pledged to donate $5 from the sale of each 'Chickens for CP Awareness' T-Shirt to CP Research in the hopes of finding a cure and improving the lives of over 34000 Australian's living with Cerebral Palsy and 17 million who live with Cerebral Palsy world wide.

In Australia, a baby is born with Cerebral Palsy every 20 hours. 1 in 700 births worldwide are a child with Cerebral Palsy.

March is Cerebral Palsy Awareness Month and D.B would like to encourage you to wear green to raise awareness of this lifelong condition. 

Cerebral means having to do with the brain. Palsy means weakness or problems with using the muscles. CP is caused by abnormal brain development or damage to the developing brain that affects a person’s ability to control their muscles.

CP affects everyone differently.  Some people with CP may need a wheelchair and assistance in all tasks including eating, dressing and bathing.  Others with milder CP may walk with a slight gait but otherwise may not need assistance … and then there’s everyone in between.

All people with CP have problems with movement and posture. Many also have related conditions such as intellectual disability; seizures; problems with vision, hearing, or speech; changes in the spine (scoliosis); or joint problems and spasticity of the muscles.

DB was born with Cerebral Palsy (CP) after suffering a stroke in utero.  CP makes many daily takes more difficult for DB.  Things like putting on shoes and socks, dressing, self-care, accessing the community are all made more difficult and typically require help or a different approach.  Things that others take for granted are not simple for those with CP.  DB is also visually impaired and has Autism.
