About the Art

Myrtle the Four-Legged chicken belonged to D.B.'s Nan who hatched her in Central Queensland in the 1980's.  Unaware at exactly how rare a four-legged chicken is, sadly no pictures were taken and so, D.B. immortalised Myrtle in his art piece, Myrtle the Four-Legged Chicken.  D.B.'s Mum and Nan attest to the accuracy of this portrait.  D.B.'s Nan exclaiming "Oh my D.B.!  You have captured her perfectly!!"

Myrtle doesn't like anyone else stealing her limelight, as it turns out.  Here she has kicked out the poor Ermine in Leonardo da Vinci's famous painting of Cecilia Gallerani, and so it is now 'Lady and the Four-Legged Chicken'.
