About the Art

Who is Wang?  Wang was a Chinese farmer with a 13 inch horn on the back of his head.  He was not the only one to have a horn (most of them are from China by the way).  The horns are known as cutaneous horns.  They are made of keratin which is what fingernails and hair is made of.

While I do not know exactly when he was born he may have been born in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s.  We do know that he disappeared in the 1930s when Robert Ripley, founder of Ripley’s Believe It or Not, asked him to come to his Odditorium.

Here are my opinions on why I think he disappeared:

  1. Someone could have executed him as they may not have liked oddities
  2. He could have gone into hiding because he was scared

I’d rather think that he disappeared because he was scared.

I sometimes think about him.  One time I thought about him so much, it seemed like I was talking to him.  He mentioned that I might grow a horn.  Here’s hoping I do.
